WHAT IS B.SAS?

B.SAS is the Big Sky Art Space, and sounds like 'Be Sass.' To sass,  according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, is to talk back--and we all want to do it! What better way to channel our sass than through art and writing...

Rebecca Stirling has been an artist, painting and writing, most of her life, studying at the San Fransisco Art Academy, as well as Whitman College. With a love for travel, World Art and literature has become the focus of her work. She looks for an integration within co-existing cultures near and far. Viewers and students are invited to realize the interdependence and interrelation between the single person and the world population, one microcosmic region and the entire earth, and to be inspired by the beauty in simple things.

Big Sky Art Space invites students and viewers into the broad world spectrum wtih images inspired by places like Zanzibar, Bali, and Hawaii, and relate that we, wherever we may be, are part of that greater world. Recycled, natural and handmade materials like silk and paper from subject regions are incorporated into the artwork. The history and culture of each region is memorialized in journals that continue to inspire her writing.
